Where PeopleNet sits now

PeopleNet Is Trimble

PeopleNet is now part of Trimble Transportation, and the name still appears on the hardware: Trimble documents its ELD as certified for Canada when used with either the PeopleNet Mobile Gateway (PMG) or the PeopleNet Connected Gateway (PCG). Paperwork or drivers still saying PeopleNet mean the same system.

  • The gateway keeps its name

    Trimble names the PMG and PCG gateways directly in its own certification wording, so the hardware in the truck is the hardware the connection reads.

  • Compliance stays in Trimble

    Trimble describes Driver ELD as compliant with the US and Canadian mandates and built on Android. That work does not move.

  • What gets added is the route

    Truck-safe routing built on each truck’s height, weight, length and axle count, with toll cost visible before the trip is dispatched.

Before you start

The PeopleNet entry asks for four things, not a single sign-in. Two of them are simply your carrier number and your email; the rest come from the account you already hold.

    Fill the Form Once

    Start your Trucker Path for Fleets trial, open Connect Account in Settings and choose PeopleNet. Enter the DOT/MC, Email, Username and Password listed above. Drivers and their hours of service come across on their own. Nothing is installed, and the PeopleNet gateway is not touched.

    Plan Around Real Hours

    Routes are built from your truck profiles and each driver’s remaining hours, read live out of Trimble Driver ELD rather than re-keyed from a report.

  3. 03Dispatch

    Dispatch to the Driver App

    Send the route from the dashboard to the driver app in one tap. The name on the contract does not change what the driver sees: turn-by-turn directions, on the phone they already carry.

FAQ

Does connecting Trucker Path for Fleets replace my PeopleNet subscription?

No. It is an add-on, not a replacement. Trimble Driver ELD stays your system of record for hours of service, compliance and driver scoring. Trucker Path adds truck-safe routing and dispatch beside it.

Is the PeopleNet integration free?

Connecting PeopleNet costs nothing extra. Trucker Path for Fleets itself is a paid subscription and starts with a 7-day free trial, which needs a credit card to begin.

Is PeopleNet the same as Trimble?

Yes. PeopleNet is now part of Trimble Transportation. Trimble still names the PeopleNet Mobile Gateway and PeopleNet Connected Gateway in its own ELD certification wording, so a fleet that bought PeopleNet is running what Trimble now sells.

Our logs say Trimble but our contract says PeopleNet. Which do I pick?

Pick PeopleNet in the connect list. It is the same account either way.

We still call it PeopleNet internally. Will support know what we mean?

Yes. PeopleNet is the entry in the connect list, and it is the same integration whether your paperwork says PeopleNet or Trimble.

Does this work with both the PMG and the PCG gateway?

The connection reads your account rather than a specific gateway, so a fleet running a mix of PeopleNet Mobile Gateway and PeopleNet Connected Gateway trucks connects once.

Who needs to be involved to connect?

Anyone holding a working PeopleNet sign-in and your carrier number. No key to request, and no approval to wait on.
