⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Truck Driver’s Oasis in Weber Canyon What a beautiful little rest area tucked into Weber Canyon along I-84 Eastbound! I’m a professional tractor-trailer driver for Heartland Express, traveling from Fort Collins, Colorado, with a delivery in Salt Lake City. I figured I’d park at one of the truck stops closer to my delivery. Easy enough, right? Apparently every trucker in Utah had the same idea. 😂 Even on a Monday morning, the small truck stops were packed, with every parking spot seemingly spoken for. So, Plan B: Weber Canyon Rest Area. And what a great Plan B it turned out to be! A word to fellow drivers: there are only about eight semi spaces, so get here early. Fortunately, I did and snagged a spot. What impressed me most is the setting. Beautiful rugged mountains rise all around the canyon, with peaceful running water nearby. It’s clean, quiet, feels safe, and is a wonderful change from staring at warehouses, fuel islands and rows of trucks. There’s some wonderful irony in searching for parking near the big city, finding everything packed, and ending up in this tiny rest area surrounded by magnificent Utah scenery.
