part 2: I suggested calling law enforcement to get them off the property. She said it takes a long time to get a response. After another hour of these antics passed, I made a call to 911. I don't know if there was a response, as I went to bed, but the *** finally stopped about 2 am. Until this problem is corrected, don't plan on getting any sleep if you park in the outer lot, east of the building, or on the spaces north of the building. The only places that might experience minimal ATV noise are those west of the building--closest to i-15.
After delivering at the Kroger DC west of this location, I decided to park here despite the lack of showers, briefcase Love's was 9 miles in the wrong direction for next load, and probably full, and Petro was guaranteed to be full at 10 pm. Pros: New facility; decent, reasonably clean and stocked bathrooms, including family style option-which allows privacy if you are sponge-bathing in lieu of a shower, and there are electrical outlets in restrooms; deli and beverage area; some hot food options; lots of refrigerated food and beverages, including alcohol (if that is important to you); night and morning staff were pleasant. Cons: One of the family-style restrooms has no mirror, so good luck doing your hair; there were no sweeteners at coffee condiment area, except sugar. Poor signage for direction trucks into location. I turned in the first driveway, and thought I was heading for the car side. I was, but you have to drive halfway up that drive before you can see the right turn sign that points to truck area. You can pass the first drive and enter from a later driveway, which gives easier access to parking. BIGGEST NEGATIVE IS NOISE: Other reviews mentioned airplane/jet noise. I was there on a Saturday night--never heard anything from the sky, BUT.... There is a business north of this location that rents ATV-type vehicles. There is also an area for offroading near the outer parking lot.It would be tolerable if they stayed over there, but the idiots riding ATV's think it is appropriate to speed through the truckstop, doing donuts and spins anywhere, including on the sidewalk at the entrance to the convenience store. Most of those I witnessed driving around like maniacs looked to be too young for a driver's license, and the ATV's didn't look street legal. I spoke to the night clerk, and asked her why they put up with the disruption of their business. She said it happens every weekend..(continued next post)
