Pilot Travel Center #31 8150 Indianapolis Blvd, Highland, IN 46322 Usable compact fuel stop for a tight Chicagoland-area spot that’s better than expected if you can actually park. Parking is extremely limited, barely more than one tight row. Maneuvering a 53’ is challenging and space is a big “if.” Large sign on the building states truck parking on this lot for more than two hours is prohibited, absolutely no overnight parking allowed, and violators will be towed at owners expense. Talked to the friendly morning staffer (20+ years there) who said the city made them post the sign, but it is not enforced by anyone. Drivers do stay overnight when a spot opens up. Morning amenities were solid. Windshield washer fluid was clean and full, and there is a rubber hose on site so you can spray the windshield and clean it easier. Food is limited, which fits the size. Company trucks visit regularly, so you work with what is here. Manage expectations on room and services. If you can secure a spot, the practical amenities make it workable. Fine for a quick fuel stop or short rest when nothing else is close. Not the place if you need guaranteed room or a full menu.
