Overall rating
It has free parking and some hot food even when there is nobody there cooking. I wouldn’t get fuel here because they don’t have squeegees and water to clean your windshield, but it’s nice have fuel in case one day someone might need it. The store and restrooms look fairly clean. However, the way the restrooms are built is horrible. The stalls have no space. Your feet will be outside of the stalls and your head will be touching the door at some point. There is enough space inside the restroom as to have built the walls of the stalls farther away from the toilets. I hope whoever built them is not in construction anymore. The best thing about this place is that since it’s not popular, there are better chances of getting a place to park. At noon, when I needed a 30 mins break, there was nobody in the parking lot. But yeah! The place is pretty much neglected. The only way these run like places survive is because they are in the path of business getting a constant influx of new customers that won’t come back unless they have to. Still, I appreciate they exist as an option and I wish them the best.
After almost eight years as a professional truck driver, this is one of the worst truck stops I’ve ever been forced to spend the night at. I didn’t stop here because I wanted to. I ran out of drive time. If I had any hours left on my clock, I would have kept going. The entire property feels neglected. The parking lot is full of broken pavement, potholes, loose gravel, grease, dirt, and broken glass. It doesn’t feel like a place that’s maintained with professional drivers in mind. The fuel island was dirty, with grease, grime, and cobwebs on the pumps. First impressions matter, and this one wasn’t good. The truck parking area has very little lighting, making it harder to back in safely at night. After a long day behind the wheel, the last thing a driver should have to worry about is whether they can even see where they’re parking. I travel with my dog, Cairo, and I didn’t even feel comfortable walking him around the property. Between the poor lighting and the condition of the ground, I just wanted to get back in the truck. Inside, the food selection was disappointing. The signs advertised more than what was actually available. Most of what I found was food sitting under heat lamps, and I ended up paying almost $4 for a 20-ounce Mountain Dew. Truck drivers don’t expect a five-star resort. We just want the basics: a clean place to park, decent lighting, a safe place to walk, clean fuel pumps, and a reasonable selection of fresh food. This location missed almost every one of those. I sincerely hope the owners take these comments seriously because this property has fallen well below what drivers should expect. Until major improvements are made, I won’t be stopping here again.
