How Blue Ink Tech is built

An Adapter, a Phone, and a Bluetooth Link

Blue Ink Tech describes the BIT ELD as an adapter that plugs into the vehicle diagnostic port and connects to the driver’s device over Bluetooth, with location coming from the BIT app on that phone or tablet. It is designed and built in West Virginia with US-based support.

  • The adapter and the app stay paired

    The BIT adapter keeps talking to the driver’s phone exactly as it does now. The connection reads from your account, not from the device.

  • IFTA and DVIR stay in Blue Ink Tech

    Blue Ink Tech lists paperless DVIR, document capture, fuel tracking and quarterly IFTA reporting as its own. None of it moves.

  • What gets added is the route

    Truck-safe routing on the rig, with toll cost visible before the trip is dispatched.

How the Blue Ink Tech Connection Works

    Fill the Form Once, Touch Nothing in the Cab

    Start your Trucker Path for Fleets trial, open Connect Account in Settings and choose Blue Ink Tech. Paste the API token from your Blue Ink Tech account. Drivers and their hours of service come across on their own, and the BIT adapter is not touched.

  2. 02Plan

    Plan Around Real Hours

    Routes are built from your truck profiles and each driver’s remaining hours, read live out of Blue Ink Tech rather than re-keyed from a report.

  3. 03Dispatch

    Dispatch to the Driver App

    Send the route from the dashboard to the driver app in one tap. Nothing is reconfigured in the cab, and live position stays visible in both systems.

Does connecting Trucker Path for Fleets replace my Blue Ink Tech subscription?

No. It is an add-on, not a replacement. Blue Ink Tech stays your system of record for hours of service, compliance and driver scoring. Trucker Path adds truck-safe routing and dispatch beside it.

Is the Blue Ink Tech integration free?

Connecting Blue Ink Tech costs nothing extra. Trucker Path for Fleets itself is a paid subscription and starts with a 7-day free trial, which needs a credit card to begin.

Do I need to reinstall the BIT adapter?

No. The adapter, the Bluetooth pairing and the BIT app stay exactly as they are.

Does this change our IFTA reporting?

No. Blue Ink Tech remains where mileage and IFTA reporting live.

Does the BIT adapter need to stay plugged in?

Yes, exactly as it is now. The connection reads your Blue Ink Tech account, not the adapter directly.

We use the Blue Ink Tech air scale too.

Unaffected. Only drivers, vehicles and hours of service are read.

Who needs to be involved to connect?

Whoever can reach the API token in your Blue Ink Tech account. There is nothing to request from us first.
