[p]Nikola has staked its claim as the Tesla of [a href=”http://m.onelink.me/d5890481″]trucking[/a] with its new Nikola One class-8 big rig. In an era where trucks getting 10 mpg used to be considered great fuel economy, a truck driver with a Nikola 1 can expect to travel 1,200 miles without refueling. That’s enough to get you from Dallas to Las Vegas.[/p]
When Will We See the Nikola One on the Road?
[p]The company announced that the [a href=”http://m.onelink.me/d5890481″]trucks[/a] will be ready to haul in 2020. Nikola has yet to decide where it will manufacture the trucks but plans to start by mid-2017.[/p]
[p]In June, Nikola revealed it contracted over 7,000 truck reservations totaling $2.3 billion in just one month for its emissions-free truck.[/p]

[p]The Nikola One truck leasing program will cost up to $5,000 per month with te first million miles of fuel is included with every truck sale. According to Nikola, “An average diesel burns over $400,000 in fuel and racks up over $100,000 in maintenance costs over 1,000,000 miles. These costs are eliminated with the Nikola One lease.”[/p]

[p]Nikola also announced its plans to build stations to refuel its new trucks in the United States and Canada. It plans to have those stations ready by 2019.[/p]
[p]The trucks technology features an independent system with an electric motor connecting to each wheel to maximize torque and breaking.[/p]

[p]What do you think? Would you drive one?[/p]
Whats the wheel base? Thing looks huge and like it would be a pain to back judging by the angles of the body.
It’s f***cking ugly. And I’d bet it’s an automatic too. There are less and less truck ‘drivers’ And more truck ‘operators’. No thanks to a whole shit load of stuff (sensors especially) that will go wrong with them.
