Hey Trucker Path users!

We’re excited to bring you significant improvements to our map layer on the Trucker Path app.

You can now see facility/warehouse perimeters labelled on our map. They will also include crucial labels like: truck entry/exit, wait times, overnight parking, onsite parking, open/close times, and much more. We have verified thousands of the most visited destinations, with more to come!.

You can see see facilities by 1) searching for a common destination, or 2) zooming into the street level tapping on the facility icon.

Our team will be continuously making updates to improve your experience, we’d love to hear your thoughts on this feature!

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2020 [p]The U.S economy is highly dependent on some 3.5 million individuals who spend their lives on the road delivering goods to move our economy. Yes, we are talking about truck drivers who deserve praise and gratitude for what they do every day. [/p] <h2></h2> [img src="https://truckerpath.com/uploads/2020/09/blog-1.jpg" alt=""] [p][b]Historical Significance [/b][/p] [p]Trucking has been around for over a century. Alexander Winton built the first semi-trailer in 1898, and quickly over the next hundred years, its significance really started to take shape. In 1998, the American Trucking Association (ATA) decided that a celebratory week shall be commemorated on the 2nd week of September. Every year since then, we’ve reserved that date to celebrate and give thanks to the millions of OTR and local drivers. [/p] <h2></h2> [img src="https://truckerpath.com/uploads/2020/09/blog-2-1.jpg" alt=""] [p][b]Impact on the Economy[/b][/p] [p]Trucking plays an integral role in the U.S economy. Some have stated that trucks act like the red blood cells in a human body. The red blood cells deliver oxygen to vital parts of the body, the same as trucks deliver goods to every corner of the country. Without them, the entire economy comes to a halt.[/p] [p]According to official statistics, trucks move 72.5% of all the freight inside the U.S. That’s about 11.84 billion tons of goods! The good news is that the demand for truck drivers is increasing every year. The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that by the year 2026 approximately 108,400 more heavy-load truckers will be required to maintain the network. The future is bright for anyone who wants to join the party. [/p] <h2></h2> [img src="https://truckerpath.com/uploads/2020/09/blog-3-1.jpg" alt=""] [p][b]Showing Gratitude [/b][/p] [p]Life on the road is not easy. Truckers are away from their loved ones several months out of the year. [/p] [p]Sometimes a simple thank-you can mean the world. Being courteous on the road, goodie bag, or even a few words of kindness can lift spirits. It’s not easy for truck drivers to always cook and pack their meals, buying them a meal goes a long way! [/p] [p]In spite of our current pandemic, truckers are still delivering the essential goods across the country. Keeping the shelves stocked, delivering critical medical supplies, helping us get from manufacturer to doorstep, truckers have taken on a special significance in these times. We must not forget these hardworking men and women. Trucker Spotlight - Demetrick Simms <em>The Trucker Spotlight series explores the lives of truckers and their journey to make a difference in their industry. He's been driving for around 5 years now. He has 3 kids and is currently engaged and getting married in 2021. He's also an American bully breeder & a Madden gamer as well. Let's get to more about Demetrick and how he got into the trucking world. <h2></h2> <h3></h3> <h3><strong>What made you decide to be a trucker?</strong></h3> I decided to become a trucker first to try something new and see new things. I then realized how good of a trucker I am & also I help the economy as well because trucking is a service. <h2></h2> <h3><strong>In the years that you have been driving, what are the significant changes that you've noticed in the trucking industry?</strong></h3> In the time I’ve been driving I’ve noticed a lot has changed especially becoming a owner operator. The trucking industry has changed tremendously and is growing rapidly. As well as fleets increasing. I love it. <h2></h2> <h3><strong>What made you decide to put up your Youtube channel?</strong></h3> I decided to start a YouTube channel because I remember when I decided to become a owner operator I had lots of questions. Some you tubers were helpful. So I decided that I would start a channel to not only help new comers but share my journey as well. How do you deal with it?</strong></h3> I can honestly say I don’t really get lonely on the road. I have a great support system and also ride with my 4 month old American bully puppy who keeps me busy and is great company. <h2></h2> [img src="https://truckerpath.com/uploads/2020/11/ts-demetricksimms-blog-2.jpg" alt=""] <h2></h2> <h3><strong>As a trucker, what are the current struggles in this COVID19 pandemic?</strong></h3> Since COVID19, I’ve noticed changes in the industry. Not too much has really affected me. It’s just a lot being on high alert wearing a mask staying sanitized and hoping others do the same. For the most part it’s manageable. <h2></h2> <h3><strong>What's your favorite Truck Brand / Model?</strong></h3> My favorite truck/brand has to be the Peterbilt all makes years and models. I’m a fan. Big fan. <h2></h2> <h3><strong>Aside from being a trucker, any other things you dream of doing?</strong></h3> Besides trucking, I intend on growing my gaming & breeding platform. I have many hustles and talents. <h2></h2> <h3><strong>What's the best truck stop for you?</strong></h3> My favorite truck stop is Flying J/Pilot <h2></h2> <h3><strong>What are the common troubles or problems you encounter while trucking?</strong></h3> My biggest issue with trucking now would be with brokers. What features do you enjoy the most?</strong></h3> The entire <a href="http://www.truckerpath.com">Trucker Path</a> app itself is a lifesaver. But if I had to narrow it down to one I would say the truck stop feature. It gives you detailed information which is very important when pre planning a trip. <h2></h2> <h3><strong>What are some tips that you would like to share for aspiring truckers?</strong></h3> All I have to say is believe in yourself. Take care of yourself and always think of others around you.
